From the backseat of the
Country Squire
The children all at once
shout:
"Are we there yet? Is it
time to get out?"
"Remember?" dad must assuredly
say
"All the signs along the
way?"
Windows, windows, all around
Searching, searching, without
a sound,
Trying to see both right
and left
Like changing channels on
a tv set.
Mountains that rise up so
high
One river comes so very
nigh,
The sound of many snorting
hogs
Farms guarded by barking
dogs.
Little white houses line
the road
A right turn at the statue
toad,
Then it's up, up the big
ol' hill
And left past the lumber
mill.
At the end of the cul-de-sac
Sits grandma's old pink
Cadillac,
So, like I said, many times
before
Wipe your feet on the welcome
mat,
before entering grandpa's
front door.
Matthew 24:32
"...when you see all these
things,
know that it is near; at
the doors!"
Matthew 24:42
"Watch...for you do not know
what hour
your Lord is coming."
Matthew 24:44
"...be ready, for the Son
of Man is
coming at an hour you do
not expect."
Matthew 25:13
"Watch...for you do not know
the day nor
the hour the Son of Man
is coming." |
