When the angels did say
to the Shepherds
in the city
of David, the Christ is born,
They marveled.
When the shepherds went and
saw Him,
when they went
and told the world,
They marveled.
When Mary and Joseph brought
Him forth,
when Simeon
and Anna first saw Christ,
They marveled.
When Jesus said He fulfilled
old prophecy,
before Satan
poured wrath on Nazareth,
They marveled.
When demons cried out in
a loud voice,
when Jesus
spoke boldly at Capernaum,
They marveled.
When Jesus told Peter let
down your nets,
when the catch
almost sank his boat,
They marveled.
When Jesus told the storm
to be still,
when the disciples
thought they'd drown,
They marveled.
When Jesus healed a man's
kept son,
whom Jesus's
disciples could not heal,
They marveled.
When Jesus said He would
be betrayed,
when He said
it would be of His own,
They marveled.
When Jesus cast out a mute's
demon,
when the mute
man then spoke,
They marveled.
When avoiding the priest's
crafty trap,
when He said
give to Caesar what is his,
They marveled.
When others ran to see Jesus'
tomb,
when for sure
they found it empty,
They marveled.
And when Jesus appeared to
His own,
when they saw
His hands and feet,
They marveled.
