"...great power under control..."
Helpless and blind at birth
Lion cubs grow up in a pride,
Venturing outside their
den
When ready to learn to hunt.¹
And when from killing they
return,
Even among their very own
They crouch, but do not
pounce.
In Jesus' mighty mane, we
too
Become lion cubs of meekness.²
Genesis 49:9
¹The
lion is commonly known as the
king of animals and is a
symbol of
strength, bravery, power,
and
nobility. The lion is used
as a
symbol over 150 times throughout
the bible.
²The
Greek word for meek, "praus,"
is used to describe someone
who is
not easily overcome by arrogance,
anger or aggression, but
controls
the great power they possess,
keeping themselves from
becoming
so. |
