A good soldier
Stands at the ready
To hear only the orders
Of his commanding officer.
A good soldier
Does not respond
To the world in his face
And refuses to be drawn
out.
A good soldier
Engages in war
Only as so directed,
According to the battle
plan.
A good soldier
Is nothing but intent,
Acting solely at the pleasure
Of He who called him to
arms.
A good soldier
Does not find strength
In the world's weapons,
But those by the grace of
God.
