A Long Walk in the Park

I planted my seat
     and strapped both feet
on and to the stationary cycle
               of my true-to-life personal dysfunction.
And because of my
     reluctance to dismount,
I wanted you instead to ride
with me there, slowly nowhere going.
Funny thing is my
     bike has only one seat,
not two, but both tires are
fully pumped and oh, so ready to roll.
Perhaps it's time
     to stop madly pedaling and
hop off, but maybe we could take
a long walk in the park together instead.
