I have been given a sharpened sword
       to share with you, to share
              with one another, and
                    so on.

I stand at the edge of a dark precipice
      holding mine so high,
           as if stabbing in the
                   sky.

It is from God alone and can divide sure
      a man's spirit and soul, even
            his marrow
                 from his
                       bone.

Sword of the Lord, His Good News,
      battle of the ages for men's souls,
            believers in
                 His Holy
                       Word.
