The first drop
of blood in the water¹
Of God's redemptive plan
Fell when His Son
was born of woman,
And evil's nostrils
flared with great
delight.
The last drop
of blood in the water
Of God's plan of salvation
Fell when Jesus'
side was pierced,
And evil's brow
rose in great
fright.
A life for new life
was always the plan,
Blood to blood
in the waters of vulnerability,²
From beginning to end,
darkness turned to
light.

Philippians 2:5-8
¹'blood in the water' is
an
expression for when one
is
vulnerable and one's enemies
can figuratively 'smell
it'
²God made Himself vulnerable,
from beginning to end in
the
life of Jesus the Christ,
for
our redemption and new life
apart from sin. |
