Our hearts are His
kept safe
among the clouds 
in heaven, 
but our feet
still walk each day
along the dusty roads
on earth.

And so it goes
to the place of the cleansing bowl
where humbly before Him
we dip our toes,
to the holy hands that ready wait
to wash and dry away
all our worldly woes.

Our minds are His as well
held close
at His side
for eternity,
and someday too
our feet
will walk dirt free
upon the streets of gold.

And so it goes
to the place of the cleansing bowl,
not in His blood as for all time,
but in water for what now shows.
