Self stands
On uncertain sands,
But does not know it,
And then
There's a breaking in,
A dawning so sure,
That the treachery thereof
Is seen by the light above,
And we tremble, and dare not look
We cry out, we are not clean
We fall humbly, at His feet
And we weep, not unseen,
Until He lifts us up
In the power of the cup,
And stands
In our stead
Until self is dead.
