Knowing something
By heart
Is not the same as
Knowing someone
That way.

You can know
By heart
That the Creator
Denied Himself
And became
The created,
But it's not the same
As knowing Him
By denying yourself and
Becoming His own.

You can know
By heart
That the Forgiver of Sin
Hung on a cross
And became
Sin,
But it's not the same
As knowing Him
By taking on a cross
Of your very own.

You can know
By heart
That the Son
Followed the Father
Step by step
All the way home,
But it's not the same
As knowing Him
By following in His steps
To a home of your own.

He wants to take you
By heart,
Break you
By heart,
And make you
By heart
Anew.
