Called to the table,
unworthy every
one,
murderers and thieves,
liars and cheaters,
selfish and jealous,
worrisome and doubting
and fearful and unfaithful,
too.
Made worthy by His call,
to be sent forth, now just
the young and old,
men and women,
weak and strong,
rich and poor,
and sick and well,
too.
His call to me and you.*
"Go into the whole world
and proclaim
the gospel to every living
creature"
(Mark 16:15). Jesus calls
the unworthy
and makes them worthy, he
sends forth
the weak and makes them
strong. And
the apostles obeyed: "They
went forth
and preached everywhere"
(John 16:20).
