Cracker Jack

The gift of the world
High upon a pedistal lies,
As all its shiny cries:
"Me, me, me
Open me, and see
There's a surprise inside."

And the lid once oh so light
Oh so heavy now suddenly seems,
And hinges not there before
From the hereafter do squeaky creak.

A great sucking sound
Breaking wind in your face,
The coffin lid's up,
No corn, no nuts, not even a toy,
Nothing but nothing
Where only dark and empty reside.

The wages of sin is death,
But the gift of God
No Cracker Jack, you see
Is life forever
By His side.
