Babies cry when they come
into this world
because they can't bring with them memories
of their walks and talks with The One and Only God
before He formed them in their mothers' wombs.
Our souls cry when loved
ones leave this world
because somehow deep down they know full well
The Hands that made them so utterly wonderfully
are waiting to hold
them again in the garden so fair.
Our eternal eyes cry when
we leave this world
because they can see the heaven they once left behind,
especially The Face that long gazed in love upon them,
and because from Him they'll never have to leave again.
