The dawning
of being born again
is first knowing
you can't do it,
it is a gift of God;
He alone
makes us alive.

The dawning
of being grown again
is first knowing
you can't do it either,
it too is a gift of God;
He alone
raises us up.

The dawning
of being home again
is first knowing
it is done,
the last gift of God,
when He alone
has set us in heaven.

God's gifts to us
by grace, through faith,
not of ourselves...
the dawnings
...lest anyone should boast.
