The Master's Elbow

We say we believe
that we will obey
but when things get tough
we follow Him
but,
afar off.

We boldly declare
send me Lord, send me
but when things get rough
we follow Him
but,
afar off.

Even Peter said he'd stand
and not run like the rest
but when his courage was not enough
he followed Jesus too
but,
afar off.

Dear Holy Spirit of God
push all fear from our hearts
and cast it to the ground,
lead us into the lion's mouth
to die for His holy crown.

And sit us at the Master's elbow
     for our flesh is weak
sit us at the Master's elbow
in Your power may we speak
sit us at the Master's elbow
and never again afar off shall we sneak.
