From Just Over the Top

High upon the shoulders
     of our Lord and Savior,
Far above the gnashing teeth,
     wolves who want to eat us,
Why do we look down to see
     how far our toes hang?
Shouldn't we just look ahead
     from just over the top of
          Jesus' head?
