God said to nothing the
first word,
and the light pulled back
the thick curtain of dark.
God put His word in many
a mouth,
and the light shone to show
all the darkness to avoid.
God sent the Word into the
world,
and His Light lived with men,
shining on in the darkness.
God's Word will soon Himself
return,
coming on the clouds of glory
to rescue light from the dark.
And God's last word to those
with ears,
after all His lights are withdrawn,
and darkness then forever gone,
will be nothing less than a holy
Amen.
