Though manacles dig deep
into the flesh of your hands and feet,
Take great comfort,
Your strife and striving
will soon end,
For all flesh is grass,
and flowers of the field;
The grass withers and flowers
fade,
and the warm winds
blow them into the air,
But before they are gathered
and burned like chaff in fire,
a strong hand will come.
Cling not to the ground,
but to the arms that pick you up
and hold you bosom close,
Behold your God!
