Something Harder

So thirsty
So very very,
How is it then
You go around the well
And not ladle out
Even a drop?

So tired
So very very,
How is it then
You pass by the rest
And not lay down
For even a nap?

So scared
So very very,
How is it then
You leave behind the sword
And not pick it up
For even one swipe?

I guess it's true:
There's something harder
Than raising the dead,
Like believing with all your heart,
And left to yourself
It takes more than you. *
