| | I'm a jar, old and, now,
easily broken,*
not much to look
 at anymore.
 A crack runs the height
of me,
 top to darned
near
 bottom.
 And not much use anymore,
 but still have
a place
 in the kitchen
 cupboard.
Not a treasure in the least,
 but I know
there's one
 in me that fills me
 completely.
 Sometimes it leaks out
 through the
crack,
 for all to see.
 Some say it's the
 the gospel
 true.
 Some say it's God's
 grace showing
 through.
But I say it’s so much
 more, God's
own
 Holy Spirit,
 The living spirit of
 Jesus Christ,
 The One,
 Not by anything I
 have done,
or
 ever will,
 But by the hands
 that gave this
 jar shape.
 It's not for this jar
 on the shelf
 I remain,
 But for the oh so
 holy contained
 therein.**
