Imagine the first waking
notion
even the next one, two or three,
When Adam and Eve came to
be,
when they first opened their eyes,
When they first saw one
another,
and the garden surrounding them,
When they first heard the
Creator,
when they first knew He made them.
Imagine how they first felt.
Imagine the first very dawning,
even the next one, two or three,
When Joseph and Mary first
saw
the face of their little baby Jesus,
When they considered the
lowly
place where He lay His tiny head,
When they first realized
they now
beheld the face of incarnate God.
Imagine how they first felt.
Imagine her very first surprise,
even the next one, two or three,
When Mary found the tomb
empty
and then Jesus, a mere gardener,
When she heard her very
Lord
so sweetly say her name out loud,
When she took His naked
feet,
and bathed them in tears of joy.
Imagine how she first felt.
Imagine the very first thought
even the next one, two or three
When the first of every
eye will
see Jesus coming, riding clouds,
When He gathers His very
own,
when He welcomes us all home,
When long at last, the time
comes
we will see God Himself face to face.
Imagine how that'll feel.
Imagine.
