A shrub in the desert
Knows but a barren scene;
A tree planted near a river
Knows a world of green.
Cursed is the shrub
Which bears no fruit,
But thinks it does;
Blessed is the tree
Which grows so much
And knows because.
Those who make flesh
Their strength,
Cannot see the good
When it does come;
Those who put trust
In the Lord,
See only the good,
And know full well
Whom it's from.
Those who deny
The living waters
Are drought bound;
Those who drink
From only them,
life will be found.
