Looking up,
they saw a cross take their
Jesus,
and their broken hearts
dripped love
all the way back down rugged
calvary.
Grief held them hostage
in the dark,
pounding their thoughts
to nothing but
numb, where forbidden at
all was revelry.
Looking up,
they saw a cloud take their
Jesus,
but this time the promise
of his return
bouyed full their hearts
as they so soared.
Hope broke the shackles
of despair
smashing the chains that
bound them,
freeing them to live for
him as their Lord.
