A computer in every home,
on every office desk...
All your work, in less the
time,
or so they said,
More time for family and
friends.
We just did more work.
An unending information highway
at your fingertips...
All your searching, in less
the time,
or so they said,
More time for communication.
We surf even more on the
web.
Cell phones...the perfect
way
feel safe, be connected...
Stay in touch, save time,
or so they said,
More time to get together.
We look at our phones
instead of each other.
So here at lunch I sit,
My mask strapped tight
And socially distant too,
While family and friends
Silent sit, little prison
cells.
The promises, the facade
The lie, the lost,
More in sync than before,
More time to spend,
But at what cost?
