Talking heads on tv
Voices on the radio,
Made with our very own hands
And worshipped with all our heart.

Mindful pride and arrogance
Lust of the eyes and loins,
Trusted as the idols they are
And filled with words that can't talk.

Noises
Thoughts in our head run amuck
Each beat of our own sweet me,
Lies embraced in our strong arms
And deafened by what we choose to see.

Let all the earth stand--
     in awe;
Let all the earth stop--
     and be still;
Let all the earth be silent--
     and just listen...
