a loud cry--
wails from a broken heart,
piercing all bounds of time,
showing us:
the sting of sin shall be...
nevermore.

an incessant voice--
the sound of many waters,
lapping against newborn shores,
reminding us:
go, and sin...
no more.

a mighty shout--
thunder from the heavens,
trumpeting, "the end is near,"
delivering us:
from a world of sin...
forevermore.
