The Tree of Life

Planted in the first Eden,
to eat from for everlasting life,
The Tree of Life was Christ,
     whose immortalizing fruit hung
within reach of Adam and his wife.

Sent to be in the sinful world,
for us to abide in through faith,
Christ  is the Tree of Life,
     whose vines feed many branches,
bearing fruit as the Father saith.

Waiting in the last Paradise,
     to feed us through eternity,
The Tree of Life will still be Jesus,
providing a constant crop of fruit
          guaranteed to taste so heavenly.
