In truth,
In Christ's heart,
beating in your chest,
There are no unexpected
guests
come knocking at your front door,
no surprise company at your table;
You surely are not an unexpected
or a surprise visitor at God's home.
He's always at the ready
to welcome us when we knock,
to feed us from His great store,
to give us drink from His river.
Should we not as well
always be so prepared,
as if it were God himself
come to visit late at night?
