.
Vengeful Fame
.
He divided the sea
And made both sides
Stand like walls,
With a dry floor between
For His children to walk past.

Still, they did not believe
And sinned some more.

In the desert unknown
He led His children
With a daytime cloud,
And in the night
A pillar of fire,
So they wouldn't lose their way.

Still, they did not believe
And sinned all the more.

He split rocks
So water would gush,
Rivers and streams forth,
From which everyone
Could their thirst slake.

Still, they did not believe
And sinned more and more.

He spread delicacies
Not found in the wilderness,
And opened heaven's doors,
Raining down food angels eat,
And caused fowl to fall,
So meat they ate until full.

Still, they did not believe
And sinned like never before.

Again and again,
He turned away His anger,
Remembering His own
Were but flesh,
And forgave their sin.

Still, they did not believe
And sinned even more.

He beat back enemies
Not giving them
Over to their swords,
And made them a
Nation without reproach.

Still, they did not believe
And sinned upon sin.

He gave them a Lord
To show them the way,
And then to save them
Once for all, a throne
To rule forevermore.

Still, they did not believe
And sinned like
it was all they could do.

Mercy is His Name
Grace is His Soul
And Love His Heart,
Thanks be to the Trinity
Who stays His bloody hand,
        His vengeful fame.
