Walk with Me

When I start to live
in the magnificent cities
I've proudly built
on the stubborn hills
of self-reliance,
God lets me visit
the rubble of my vanities past
and His voice
echoes once again
through the canyons of mercy:

"Walk with Me
and you will see
the path ahead
that's meant to be."

Let us start back down
from the cities of our hands
we've raised so high
on the stubborn hills
of our own will,
and let God lead us
through the deep, dark valleys below
and listen
for His shepherd call
searching for His wayward lambs:

"Walk with me
and you will see
the path ahead
that's meant to be."

He has shown us what is good
and what He has told us is not odd:
"Do justice, love mercy
and walk humbly with your God."
