When the colored ribbons
of morning
drape across the
shadowed horizon,
When the ocean's barely
bubbles
first toe the shores
of still dry sands,
When an infant's breast-fed
cooing
thanks it's momma
for a timely meal,
When the birthday boy's
exuberance
let's sister have
the first piece of cake,
When the hurried high school
student
holds the door for
a late classmate,
When a man wearing a hat
in the rain
offers his umbrella
to keep another dry,
When graveyard-shift nurses
silently
hold crying hands
in the hospital dark,
When the receding waters
of the sea
begin to sing goodnight,
a frothy lullaby,
When the curtains of a very
busy day
benevolently close
to invite a time of rest,
When we see these and other
acts of love,
when we see such
kindness and joy in action,
We see God's presence.
We see God in action.
We see His heart.
We see God.
