| We Would Do Well
 Since the earliest hour
darkness,
 like a thespian veil
 drawn tight,
 hung
 across the world's stage
 awaiting only
 the director's cue
 for the curtain's ascent
 and the act's first light
 loosed in the parting
to shine in the shadows below.
 It's getting late
and light,
 like a high house spot
 cast low,
 beckons
 our feet down the aisles
 and toward the exits
 stage right and left;
 we would do well
 to follow it close
until the light of the lobby
 shines full on our face.
