Serpents are among us
who more than bite.
Serpents twist the truth
like their many coils.
Serpents say hold me,
then hug us to death.
Serpents give us drink
poisoning our souls.
Why do we still listen
to forked tongues?
Why do we still follow
those who by belly go?
