From the rockin' chairs
on the front porch
of our new
home in retirement,
We can see across the street
the headstones
of the graveyard
that waits for our bones...
But it don't bother us none.
There's a yard in between
that needs
to be mowin'
and edgin'.
There's mail in the box
at the end of
the drive that
needs to fetchin'.
But even more important,
beyond that,
there's a very
busy street
that still must be traveled
on, to the right or the left,
for all the rest of our days
runnin' errands for the King...
But it don't bother us none.
Rise and go, each day He
will so say,
and when we
are through
with whatever He's asked
of us to do, He will send us
to the next place to so share
the Good News about Jesus...
But it don't bother us none.
We're glad to go wherever
the Spirit
carries us
away to, sharing
the gospel all the way home.
