The ghosts of our past
follow us wherever
we go;
we carry
them with us, even
as we run to new abodes where
we only make more.
All running accomplishes
is leaving behind
the haunts
that
bring back to mind spirits of
hurt we'd just as soon in the desert
leave to forever die.
Even as the cause of pain
no longer darkens
this earth,
as we
let it, as we so choose, its
power breathes inside us and keeps
us from moving on.
God commands we forget
all former things,
that we look
only
on the new He is busy doing,
making springs and streams to carry
us to wonderlands anew.*
Let go! Go with His flow!

Spirit living
in us...turn away from the
past and turn
toward the power that wants
to carry you
away on the rush of a joyous
