Besides the temple guard,
startled by the shaking
and
sudden
light shining through
the sealed tomb stone's door
when from the entrance rolled
away,
Running back to the arms
of a world they so
believed
would
save them from harm,
What did Jesus see
when he first looked
out
his borrowed
grave's orifice?
A still vast dark sky when
the sun, just below
the horizon,
begins to usher
in the morning light,
transitioning
from black to deep dark blue
to pale blue with ribbons of orange and yellow,
The gift of a new day,
filled with
a new light.
Thank you, Jesus, for more
than
sharing what
you saw that morning,
but for making for us the special twilight,
So we could walk this new
day
with your holy
resurrection eyes.
